SYSTEM OF PLAY 'A-GROUP'
1 - The round-robin games
2 - Tie-break games for semi-finals.
3 - Tie-break games for 8th ranked place and the challenge games for the World Championships.
4 - Tie-break games for 9th and 10th places for relegation to the B-Group next season.
5 - The semifinal games.
6 - The medal games.
7 - The challenge games.

1 - The round-robin games.
2 - Tie-break games for the semifinals.
3 - The semifinals.
4 - The medal games.
5 - The challenge games.
B-GROUP WOMEN AND MEN
With more than ten competing teams the B-Groups have been split into two groups each where the SYSYEM OF PLAY shall be followed.
PROMOTION / RELEGATION
Rank 9 and 10 of the A-Group are automatically relegated to the B-Group for next season's European Curling Championshiops with Rank 1 and 2 of the B-Group gaining promotion.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP QUALIFICTAION
Rank 1-7 of the A-Group shall qualify for the World Curling Championships 2006.
WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP CHALLENGE
Rank 8 of the A-Group shall play Rank 1 of the B-Group for the last World Curling Championship placement in a best-of-three games play-off. The first game shall be played in one arena which shall be decided by the toss of a coin. The second game shall be played in the other arena. If a third, and final, game is required the arena shall be decided by a further toss.
As Canada and U.S.A. are the hosts for the 2006 World Curling Championships A-Group team rank 8 shall be in the challenge position.
